Rockey's Fountain Creek print!

anitou's own Charles Rockey has generously agreed to provide the Fountain Creek Restoration Project with a beautiful print, just in time for your holiday gift-giving! Click on the image to see a larger version.

When you donate $75 or more to the Fountain Creek Restoration Committee, you not only get a beautiful numbered and signed Rockey print, but you help us in our efforts to restore and maintain our lovely and vital Fountain Creek.

The print you receive will NOT have the Fountain Creek Restoration Committee watermark - we've just put that on there to preserve the integrity of the online image.

The print is 33" x 21". Only 250 of these prints are currently being offered.

Here's how to get a copy of this print:

1) Make a donation of $75 or more to the Fountain Creek Restoration Committee by clicking on the Donate button on the menu. (All donations are received and managed through the Pikes Peak Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.)

2) You have two choices for obtaining your print.

a) If you would like the print mailed to you in the US, donate an additional $10 to cover our shipping and handling costs. If you require international shipping, please contact us to get a price for this.

b) If you would prefer to pick up your print, they will be available for pickup at The Law Firm of Jaray & Webster on Eighth Street. Please call (719) 633-6620 (8:30-5:00 PM - M-F) to arrange a pickup.

3) You may order more than one print. Multiple prints GOING TO THE SAME ADDRESS do not incur additional shipping/handling charges.

While we check our PPCF donation register occasionally, the only way to insure quick shipping is to notify us of your donation. Shipping will occur within seven days of your order.

tarting at the foot of Pikes Peak, Fountain Creek is a mountain stream flowing year-round through Manitou Springs, Colorado and four community parks. The creek provides a natural ecosystem within a highly urbanized area.

A mountain stream of extraordinary beauty in each of the four seasons, many species of wildlife have depended on the creek's aquatic and riparian habitat for their survival. In addition, people have always valued Fountain Creek as one of the natural wonders of the area.

The quiet rush of a mountain stream is soothing to the ear, and beautiful to the eye. In the heart of Manitou Springs along the south bank, a granite boulder bears an inscription marking the start of Ute Trail, a tribute to the deep meaning Fountain Creek has to local residents, past and present.

Fountain Creek is a valuable and precious natural resource. A sense of urgency exists due to habitat deterioration of the headwaters of Fountain Creek from nearby urbanization. Modifications to the surrounding landscape have altered natural ecosystems, in some cases permanently. Collaboration between public and private stakeholders will be critical to restoration projects, balancing urban pressures with the strong desire to enhance Fountain Creek.

A key issue in restoring local stretches of Fountain Creek is the need to ensure upstream conditions do not degrade restoration efforts. A long term goal is collaboration with government, business, and private citizens as stakeholders working together to preserve habitat restoration efforts all along Fountain Creek. With better water quality and management of the headwaters, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and other Arkansas River communities will find their restoration efforts a little easier.
